Stockport Air Raid Shelters - March 2026
As part of our History work on World War 2, Year 6 were lucky enough to visit Stockport Air Raid Shelters and became evacuees for the day. In the morning, we explored the tunnels and found all the different areas which included spaces to sleep, space for nursing mothers, the women's and men's toilets, the Warden's office, the kitchen area and the first aid area. At lunch time, we were able to play with games and toys from the 1940s. During the afternoon we took part in 3 different workshops: savage, make do and mend and gas mask practice. We learnt so much about World War 2 and a great time was had by everyone!
Fruit Crumbles
October 2025
As part of our Design and Technology work, each group was given a brief from a customer and was asked to design and make a fruit crumble based on their customer's requirements. Year 6 planned and ordered the ingredients they needed and worked well as a team to prepare their crumbles. They practised their peeling, chopping and grating skills during the process. The children thoroughly enjoyed this unit of work - especially the tasting part!
Macbeth
October 2025
Year 6 have taken part in an incredibly powerful workshop based on the Shakespearean pay, Macbeth. It was delivered by the Young Shakespeare Company who taught us all about the characters and plot. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all and will be extremely useful for our upcoming English work on the story of Macbeth.
Mini Whistlers
September 2025
Year 6 have taken part in a Football Association workshop all about respect. The workshop included designing a referee kit, learning how to be an assistant referee and how to officiate a game. The key message was to ALWAYS RESPECT EVERYONE!
Welcome to Year 6!
September 2025
As part of the start to our year, we have created individual targets to try and achieve this term. Our target displays are World War 2 themed to fit with our history topic later in the year.
